High School Marching Festival Competition set for Oct. 25 at ULM
The University of Louisiana at Monroe Sound of Today will host the annual District 1 Band Director's Association High School Marching Festival Tuesday, Oct. 25 at Malone Stadium on the °®½´ÊÓÆµcampus.
There will be eight high school marching bands from Northeast Louisiana who will perform for an expert panel of judges.
Bands will receive a rating of one, two, three, or four, with "one" being the best rating possible for that performance. The rating is designated with a Roman numeral corresponding to the rating number received.
Bands that receive ones in all areas of performance are also said to have won "sweepstakes."
The first band will perform at 5:30 p.m. and the evening will conclude with an exhibition performance by the °®½´ÊÓÆµSound of Today marching band at 8:10 p.m.
There is a $3 admission charge for the festival.
°®½´ÊÓÆµstudents, faculty and staff will be admitted free with a valid °®½´ÊÓÆµidentification card.
