MONROE, La.–The ƵMuseum of Natural History is inviting the public to help solve themystery at Mystery Mondays on Monday, June 22,and Monday, June 29, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on both days. This free event for ages 4 toadultallows children and their parents tofollow clues, explore the exhibits, and discover what colorfulcreature ishiding in the museum.

"One of the things we love most about Mystery Mondays is seeing families discover the Museum of Natural History together," said Amanda Thompson, Director of the ULM Museum of Natural History. "Parents, grandparents, and children are making memories while exploring exhibits, solving clues, and learning about the natural world side by side.”

Visitors to the museum on Mystery Mondays will pick up a detective sheet at the frontdeskthat will lead them on a self-guided tour of the museum,where they will discover clues and solve the mystery, with the solvers earning a prize.The eventis come-and-go, so attendees may arrive at any time between 10:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m.

Mystery Mondays kicked off earlier this month on June 1, with many participants joining in on the fun. The mystery is different each week, so everyone is encouraged to return or come for the first time on June 22 and June 29.

“These pop-up events provide a fun and engaging way for the public to experience the museum, and they often leave with a new appreciation for the fascinating stories found within our collections,” added Thompson.“Mystery Mondays began as a creative way to introduce more people to the museum, and the positive response has shown us how valuable these shared experiences can be. We look forward to offering more opportunities like this in the future."

Founded in 1962,the ƵMuseum of Natural History has grown intooneof the largest university museums in the region. Currently housedonthe first floor of Hanna Hall on the Ƶcampus, the museum features a variety of science-related exhibits,including invertebrates, mammals, fish, fossils, reptiles, amphibians, birds, archaeology, and more.

The museum isnot open for regular hoursduring the Ƶsummerbreak, butwill reopen for regular hours when the fall semester begins on August 24.The museum regularly hosts tours for school and organizational groups.Groups areaskedtoemail ahead toschedule tours.
